Bulk Buckets/Flower bar

Updated: Jul 19, 2023

If you are looking for ideas or something different to do, I just wanted to show you two examples for your next party, whether that be a birthday, baby or bridal shower party.

I have two options: Purchase buckets of flowers or host me to come set up for your party. If you tell me how many people will be attending, I will help you figure out how many flowers you will need.

Usually in each bouquet, it's a goal to have 5 types of flowers to help balance and fill it out.

The five types of flowers to complete a bouquet are focal flowers, dainty-airy flowers, disk flowers, spike flowers and filler flowers.

I will give you some examples of the types of seasonal flowers you can use if you are making up flower arrangements.

Focal flowers could consist of tulips, peonies, sunflower or dahlias- a large showy flower.

Spike flowers could consist of snapdragons, larkspur, stock or celosia.

Disk flowers are round headed flowers like zinnias, calendula, marigolds or strawflowers.

For filler, you could use greens such as eucalyptus, mints or basil.

To add a bit of whimsy and movement to your bouquets, you add smaller flowers such as bachelor buttons, bupleurum, love in a mist, or cosmos. Anything to add interest that makes you want to reach out and touch is a great airy flower to add to your bouquet.

Here are some pictures of me collecting and setting up for a mid-May brunch for the sweetest ladies.

I used peonies and campanula for the focal flower.

For the spike, I used larkspur, bells of Ireland and snapdragons.

For the disk flower, I used ranunculus and yarrow.

For the airy flower, I used bupleurum and dried nigella (love in a mist) pods, dried starflower and statice. For the filler/greenery, I used pokeweed greens, pennycress and apple mint.

I showed up with the flowers and Tiffany had the cutest table set up for brunch with candles, forsythia greens and citrus.

I set up the blue mason jars with each flower and then explained the types of flowers and handed out the flowers.

Peonies were the focal flower for these bouquets.

Statice helps fill out the bouquet, plus it's a great dried flower.

I talked through the process and each lady was able to put together their own flowers. They did such a good job. Some ladies grew their own flowers, and some had no experience with flowers at all. They all seemed like they had a fun time.

I just love to help people turn their creative brain on and play with flowers. It's good for the soul and a great source for self-care.

This could even be a great idea for a young tweens' birthday party.

Keep me in mind when you have your next event. Add a charcuterie board from People's Provisions and you'll have the nicest party.

Thank you Tiffany for hosting this and for the wonderful photos. Tiffany S. Wenger (passgallery.com)
